Last week, we were in California for a quick business trip. We decided to stay the weekend on Laguna Beach as an impromptu baby moon. We stayed at the lovely La Casa Del Camino which was a Spanish style boutique hotel just steps from the beach. Before we left, we took a quick drive up the PCH. The weather was perfect. The beach was beyond. And we really fell in love with the warm California welcome we received while we were there. We both took notice at how friendly everyone in California seems to be. Here are a few of my favorite highlights from the trip.

I cannot believe it’s already the end of October. I feel like September and October literally flew by. We’ve been enjoying the outdoors as much a possible before we’re inevitably stuck indoors for the winter. The next couple of weeks are filled with what should be a pretty epic Halloween party (I’m so excited it falls on a Saturday this year), and our first Friendsgiving dinner party at home. Here are some photos from the past few weeks.
~hudson valley wine touring with friends~~cozy weekends with family in front of the fire~~rainbow colored tree (my friend and I literally stopped our car to look at this tree)~~a laid back weekday brunch with my husband at my favorite spot: Le Barricou~~homemade thyme dusted, maple glazed sweet potatoes~

Fall is in full swing in New York and I’ve been loving the cooler weather. Lately, I’ve been enjoying the outdoors and embracing all fall time activities. I’m looking forward to a Hudson Valley wine tour with friends, hand-picking our jack-o- lantern, and the anticipation of cozy evenings by the fireplace.

A few weeks ago, my friend and I decided to escape nyc for the weekend. We wanted a quick, hassle free getaway so we booked a last minute stay in Fairfield CT. We try to get away at least once a year together for a mini girls trip and Connecticut was the perfect escape. With its lovely beaches, great restaurants and quaint vibe, we felt like we were way farther from ny than we actually were.
Where we stayed: We love the The Inn at Fairfield Beach– a cute, simple hotel right on the water but since we decided to book so last minute, they were sold out. Instead, we stayed at another great spot, The Circle Inn which was walking distance to the beach and had a pool as well.
Where we played: We loved Terrain for a one stop shop for cool shopping followed by cocktails.
Where we ate: We love The Whelk so naturally, we paid a return visit to this local favorite.

We’ve just returned from a month long trip to Italy where we visited friends and family. Its been quite a while since I’ve been able to take a substantial trip and it was a treat to be able to extend it just a bit longer since we were having such an incredible time. I’ve certainly adapted to the slower pace and overall sense of calm we experienced during our stay. To say I’m feeling relaxed and rejuvenated is an understatement. Waking up to a delicious cornetto and cappuccino every morning and enjoying long afternoons on the barren September beaches of Italy was something I was so happy to experience together with my fiancé. We did quite a bit of traveling throughout Sicily and Rome and then enjoyed some downtime in Calabria during our last week. These are just some of my favorite shots from our Sicily. The rest will follow shortly. I hope you enjoy.

This past week, I took a mini trip to Miami for business. To say that it it gave me Spring fever is an understatement. Thankfully, the first official day of Spring was the day I arrived back home so I’m clinging on to that ounce of hope that warmer weather is just around the corner! Last weekend, we managed to make some strides in our wedding planning and as you can see from the photo below, we’ve secured our venue. It’s finally starting to feel like everything else is cake from here. I hope you all have a great weekend.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was pretty fun. We finally managed to see 2 movies that I have been talking about for months: Her and The Wolf of Wall Street. I’ve been waiting for the movie Her to come out ever since I first started hearing about it last year and it exceeded my expectations- it actually blew my mind at some points and I’ve always been a huge fan of Joaquin Pheonix, so it was great all around. The Wolf of Wall Street was intense and superb- I think this one will go down in history. Oh, Leo. You are So. Good. We also managed to check out this cool new venue on Sunday night. It’s a pretty neat Restaurant/Concert Venue where we grabbed a bite to eat, a couple cocktails, and checked out this band.
We just returned from an amazing New Years ski getaway. We stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast which we visited for the first time last year. I’ve enjoyed plenty of time off for the holidays and this was the perfect ending to a relaxing couple of weeks filled with family, friends, and my new fiancé!
~CM monogram at Club Monaco’s 5th Avenue Flagship~
This week, I attended Club Monaco’s Holiday Soirée event at their new flagship store on 5th Avenue. If you have not yet checked it out, you definitely should. It’s a beautiful space and its more of a mini department store feel, rather than your typical store experience. The event was hosted by one of my favorite fashion/lifestyle bloggers, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere (who i was very excited to meet and who was super sweet). Here are a few of my photos.

This year, I decided to head out to North Salem with some friends for some apple picking. The weather was absolute perfection- the skies were clear, the sun was shining bright and the air was cool and crisp. Although I have yet to make a fresh apple pie, it was the perfect way to begin the Fall season.
