Healthy Hues… by Gloria

Here in NY, it’s hardly felt like winter. The temperature has been fairly mild for the entire season and it seems as though everyone is secretly awaiting the first significant snowfall…I personally, felt the first glimpse of spring when I left the office last night and there was still a bit of daylight to be had. It reminded me that longer days and warmer weather is just around the corner. It inspired me to focus on healthy eating and staying hydrated. With colors like these, it makes it easy…

No place like home… by Gloria

As much as I enjoy being out and about, sometimes, it feels so good to just be at home. I’ve been living in my apartment for a little over 2 years and I thought I’d share some of my favorites that make home well, home.

~Vintage frosted etched glasses- these were my grandmothers- and they help to make everything I put in them just a little bit sweeter~

~Vintage china cabinet. I bought this at a used furniture store and the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew it had to be mine. I love the grandfather clock/steeple-like shape~

Winter Warmers…by Gloria

I thought I’d start my blog with the things that make me happiest when the days are too short and the weather is cold. This weekend, my boyfriend and I left the city for some suburban “r & r” with family. I made some simmered apple cider which we spiked with some brandy and relaxed by the fire. I hope you lay back and enjoy it as well…

~slice oranges, insert cloves into each orange segment, add a few teaspoons of brown sugar and some cinnamon sticks, let simmer. add some brandy to a glass mug and fill with the cider (recipe courtesy of my boyfriends cousin, Christina)~

~sit back, relax and enjoy~
